Metal Content A3F Persee
Metal content A3F Persee offers analysis equipment for the metal in samples. In this case in oil samples use the equipment of AAS.

Testing the metal content in oil samples with an Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometer (AAS) can be done by:

  1. Dissolved oil samples with Xilena
  2. Measure the sample with AAS

AAS is an instrument for measuring the content of metal in the sample. AAS works on the principle that atoms absorb light at a certain wavelength that is unique. When a certain wavelength of light is exerted, energy (light) is absorbed by the atom.

AAS can measure the concentration of certain metals in solutions that also contain other metals. AAS can be used to determine the content of heavy metals or light metals.

Some parameters that can be analyzed with AAS, among others:
Lead (Pb), Iron (Fe), Zinc (Zn), Copper (Cu), Silver (Ag), Gold (Au), Nickel (Ni), Sodium (Na), Mercury (Hg), Aluminum (Al).

Features Metal Content A3F Persee:

Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometer A3F Persee. The instrument uses a flame atomizer only. The computer system and AA-Win 3.0 software will control the positioning it. Three flame options are available to the user with the Air/Acetylene being the standard configuration. Almost all use this type of flame,  while the N2O/Acetylene and the Air/LPG (Natural gas) are available as an option for the more demanding of elements. All three flame configurations offer coded burners for full safety protection.

AAWin software

AAWin Software is a powerful and intuitive software product designed to allow control and data acquisition from the A3 series Atomic Absorption Spectrometer.
The AAWin software allows the Analyst to control all aspects of their analytical method whilst providing an extensive range of tools for data collection, storage, and interpretation.

Light source

Automatic 8 Hollow Cathode lamp turret controlled and optimized by the AAWin software. Can control Operating lamp current and warm-up lamp current to eliminate drift commonly associated with lamp warming.

Background correction

D2 lamp background correction system fitted as standard to all configurations. High-energy D2 lamps and adjustment beam splitter mirror with the AA-Win software.
Self-Reversal background correction system fitted as standard to all configurations. The high-performance background system uses the same hollow cathode lamp as installed for the analysis.

Optical system

High-precision minimal optics ensures maximum light throughput to the computer-controlled Czerny-Turner monochromator.

Autosampler

A universal autosampler is available as an optional accessory. It is on the front of the A3 instrument to automatically introduce standard and unknown samples to the atomizer for analysis.

Flame mode:

The flame atomizer offers three flame options:

Air/Acetylene:
The high sensitivity (Cu 2ppm >0.280abs) is due to the efficiency of the fixed-position glass nebulizer fitted as standard. An acid-resistant replacement is available as an option.

N2O/Acetylene:
These flame configuration measure elements are prone to ionization such as Aluminum, Tin, Titanium, Calcium, Vanadium, and Molybdenum. The software AAWin3.0 will control switching from Air/Acetylene to N2O/Acetylene becoming flame-off

Air/Propane (LPG)

Due to the low temperature of the flame, it is ideal for analyzing alkali metals such as Potassium, Sodium, and Lithium, especially when used in the emission mode. Some remote areas of the world have difficulty obtaining Acetylene gas of a high enough purity to operate the flame correctly, LPG can give a real alternative and offer comparable results for most elements throughout the wavelength range.

Safety Features Metal Content A3F Persee:

  • * Pressure monitoring for all gases
    * Burner Identification
    * Flame sensor
    * Drain trap level sensor
    * Gas leak detector
    * Overpressure in premix
    * Safety cut-off switch

Principle Metal Content A3F Persee:

A3F is a highly sensitive analytical technique that can detect trace amounts of elements in a sample. The elements are heated and atomized in the pyrolytic graphite furnace, and become atomic vapor in the ground state, which selectively absorbs the characteristic radiation emitted by the hollow cathode lamp. Within a certain concentration range, its absorption intensity is proportional to the content of the element to be tested in the test solution.
